We Make The Impossible Possible

The Amber Education Fund supports Amber Charter Schools and other endeavors that seek to improve the educational opportunities of Latinx and other underserved communities.

We do this by:

Providing expertise and funding to the Amber Charter Schools, a network of schools offering high-quality educational opportunities for students K-8 living in three underserved New York City communities – Washington Heights/Inwood, East Harlem and Kingsbridge
Supporting students and families through engaging and effective programs and services and community partnerships

We are an independent 501c3 charity. Contributions from our donors support our mission and efforts.

Amber Charter Schools

Amber Charter Schools (ACS) was formed in 2000 and is in the original cohort of New York charter schools. ACS is the first Latino-led charter school network in New York and one of the first in the country.

ACS has three K-8 schools serving East Harlem, Inwood, and Kingsbridge in the Bronx.

Connecting To The Community

Children thrive when they and their families are connected to the community. With the support of the Amber Education Fund and in partnership with About U Outreach, the Harlem Jets, and Amber Charter Schools, a Community Day at Wagner Playground in East Harlem brought families together for a day of fun and fellowship. With support from the Fund, a full slate of sports and activities including lacrosse, volleyball, and football was enjoyed by all; along with food and beverage vendors and exhibitors offering nutrition guidance, dance and arts, board games and clinical medicine.

This is one example of how the Fund partners with other organizations to bring opportunities to Amber families and the community.
